Earl F Jones

The Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle & Grandfather.

Earl Francis Jones (born Octover 31, 1965), better known as a Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle & Grandfather. I’m a Man of few words, until the time comes to speak my mind. Once those words come from the heart to the mouth; is when things get complicated and misuderstood.

 Early Life

Earl Francis Jones was born on October 31, 1965) in Lynn, Massachusetts. The eldest child of Martha Ann Jones — a hard working, single, African American woman from Mobile, Alabama. I have two younger siblings, Robert Earl Jones & Rhonda Marie Jones; all of us created by different men — none of which stayed around long enough to play the role of traditional fathers.
In search of better opportunities, my mother left Lynn, MA and moved to Newark, NJ in 1970. We navigated the life style of this urban oasis until we finally settled down in East Orange, NJ where I completed junior high school and ultimately graduated with the class of “1983” from East Orange High.

Career Life

After high school, had a really brief stint in the United States Airforce (until I was kicked out for being stupid) I bounced around from remedial job to job. Little did I know, these jobs were building up my character and allowing me to understand how modesty and remaining humble can be become the most valuable asset in a Man’s life. Did not attend college but was reading a magazine I saw — as I sorted mail for this company I worked; that talked about a computer the world would face in the year 2000 and computer programmers were needed to resolve this Y2K issue. In 1998, I landed a job with Verizon Wireless (Bell Atlantic Mobile back then) as a Computer Programmer, where I worked for over 15 years.

Personal Life

I wasn’t much of a ladies man in my teenage years, but ultimately grew fond of a girl I met in my senior year of high school. We started dating in June-1983 and have been together ever since. I formally asked Kassema Holiday to marry me on July 31, 1993. That courtship and then marriage brought onto this earth, 4 daughters (Al-Nesha, Sade, Kassema & Shanta) along with 7 grandchildren as of 2021.

Marriage Life

I pondered whether to even say anything about marriage, but I thought (Shit) why not. I will be brief though. Marriage like anything else worth having in life, takes time to cultivate and become the best thing you ever wanted in life. It comes with its own ups & downs. To survive, all you have to do is buckle in and enjoy the ride. Put the work in and read up on the 80/20 rule. NO ONE or NO MARRIAGE is perfect, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make “perfection” the goal of achievement. Heck, I made alot of mistakes along the way but 38 years later, Kassema and I are still together — and I am in no way an expert of the 80/20 rule…LoL!!!

Upside Down Life

“One day you go to bed on top of the world; and then wake up on another day and the world is on top of you.” Are partial lyrics to song a songstress we all know wrote — and she was so right! How do things seem to be going so right & normal in one instance and suddenly change to something completely different a second later. For this reason, my life, my families life got turned upside down. I mean for real!
Another saying I heard: You wanna know whose really in your corner? Get turned upside down….the people still standing next to you are the one you bestah ride with, Til The Wheels Fall Off. Them other ones, who talk…just to be nosey, don’t offer any support — even if it ain’t genuine….GIVE EM A TRANSFER AND KICK DEY ASS OFF YOUR BUS…!!! I keep my circle small and don’t apply the friendship label to just anyone.
Just in case you wanted to know…I’m Doing Just Fine!
On A Simpler Note…
All things considered, we all may have a number of things in common, but without talking to you, I may never know what they are. To simplify the process, take my word and agree that we all have to live life…and that’s the one thing we do have in common.
When I think about it….Life can be seen as a game…a series of events that lead us from place to place. I’m about to tell you the secret…Life is all about the moves or choices we make as we go along. Simple old seemingly unimportant decisions that are used to chart predefined paths in our lives. The paths have already been determined for us by the God or high power you serve. And I think GOD gives us the free will to use the voice put in our spirits by him to choose that path or to go rogue & choose our own path. The choice is ours, and ours alone. Your job is to understand the destiny is in the choice you make. Each turn in the road or path you take leads you to another choice. And some choices can change everything in our evolution. Everything you do, for the rest of your life, will be connected to the choices you make as you travel along. NO ONE IS EXEMPT!
I wish I could tell you that it’s so simple, and for some it just might be. But for the rest of us…
Choose Well…Your Life and Pursuit of Happiness Depend on It….!!!!
