Overturning Roe v. Wade.
How and where to even start on this? Before I even attempt to provide a personal opinion here, let me start by saying I am a supporter of ALL things women. And…Believe GOD is the only entity who can tell a woman what to do or not to do with her body.
And Men…? Young or Old – should squeeze our lips tight and have no comment on the subject of a woman’s right to choose. Over the last 50 years, I can’t believe this was actually an issue that had to be heard by the Supreme Court, in the first case. And now the current Supreme Court Justices have overturned it. I mean Really?
From reading a number of articles, on this very subject, it appears that the majority of Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases.
I believe that number is somewhere around 65% of polled Americans.
I realize we as a nation try to roll things into religious beliefs, or political ideology, but I don’t buy that for one minute. Some of the greatest atrocities in man-kind history have been carried out in the name of religion. We could debate this issue until the cows come home, but I have lived long enough to know religion and politics should have nothing at all to do with this right for any woman.
I won’t get into either debate on this platform – but will dare to say – GOD put no man or woman on this earth to condemn the decisions made by his children. In the end, GOD’S judgment will decide it all.
Fundamentally, I can understand the debate of pro-lifers, and by that same token, I understand the argument for those who support pro-choice. I really can. As a teenager, I learned that there are always 3-sides to a story. My Version. Your Version. And then…The Truth.
Who owns the Truth here? I say….”WOMEN”.
My issue with all of this, is why ALL women aren’t together on this delicate issue?
In 1972, Congress initially tried passing sweeping laws that impacted ALL WOMEN. The Equal Rights Amendment, was enacted to bring to an end the legal distinctions between women and men in matters of divorce, property, employment and other matters. There were no opposing views from Women on this. It brought women together. Although never truly being added to the Constitution, the point I’m trying to make – all women were onboard. I think the same should apply here. Stick Together on this one Ladies.!! Leave the Judgment to GOD!
If it’s not you, then it’s someone you knew who had an abortion. It doesn’t make it right, but it does leave the choice in your hand ladies.
I’m Pro-Choice and don’t agree with Pro-Lifers:
- Who support incarceration of women who attempt to access safe abortion alternatives.
- Who supports ripping babies out of the arms of women who try to enter this country, without proper documentation and separating them from their children.
- Who punish or silence doctors and strip away reproductive healthcare away from millions of low-income people.
- Who cut funding to nutritional assistance programs that are designed to aid and feed hungry children.
- Who doesn’t stand up to provide funding and the needed tools to ensure all Children of this country receive the same level of K – 12 education, no matter what Zip-Code you live in.
Appears to be a bit hypocritical to me.
There should have never been a reason that a law needed to be implemented to protect the rights of women, on this matter, in the first place. And for the SCOTUS to repeal the law is truly out of bounds and out of scope in such a developed world.
LEAVE THE CHOICE TO WOMEN!!
Mr. Jones Is On The Way!!
